Acrylic on canvas 70 x 50 cm, 20 x 20 cm for individual canvases This piece explores how technology has encouraged loneliness. In the present, I’ve noticed that we are constantly distracted by electronic devices, missing important events in our lives. Thus, we’ve become isolated. The containment of each apartment mirrors prison cells. The larger canvas behind these square ones shows that these people are disconnected from society. Inspired by billboards I see daily, the ads touch on how consumerism distracts us from reality, heightening our loneliness.
